Whey protein born in the French Alps

This vanilla whey, with no added sugar, is manufactured from start to finish by Protéalpes in Albertville, in the heart of Savoie. The whey used as raw material is not bought on the international market: it comes directly from the Union des Producteurs de Beaufort, a cooperative of human-sized farms located in the pastures of Rhône-Alpes.

The cows, Tarine and Abondance, traditional breeds adapted to the mountain environment, graze at high altitudes, up to 2,500 meters, and are fed on grass and hay from the geographical area, without GMOs. This mountain milk is used in the production of Beaufort cheese. The residual whey from this cheese production is then mechanically cold filtered by microfiltration/ultrafiltration, then spray-dried in a few milliseconds. No heat treatment occurs before drying: the proteins retain their native structure and complete amino acid profile.

Protéalpes does not outsource any step. Formulation, production, and packaging are carried out in-house, in Albertville, guaranteeing total traceability, from the alpine pasture to the bag you receive at home.

A refined formula, flavored with real vanilla

The ingredient list is a single line: whey protein isolate (91%), natural vanilla flavor, organic coconut flour, organic natural Bourbon vanilla powder (1%). Nothing else.

With 91% isolate in the formula, this is the most protein-concentrated version in the Protéalpes range. The vanilla used is neither a synthetic flavor nor a standardized extract: it is Bourbon vanilla powder, from organic farming, Ecocert certified (FR-BIO-01).

No added sugar, and especially no sweetener to imitate its taste. No sucralose, no aspartame, no acesulfame K, no steviol glycosides. This is a deliberate choice: most "sugar-free" wheys on the market replace sugar with low-cost synthetic sweeteners. Protéalpes refuses this substitution. The result is a drink with a delicate vanilla and whey taste, unsweetened, which everyone can customize according to their preferences, with honey, a plant-based milk, fruits, or as is.

No lecithin either (usually extracted from soy with solvents), no thickener, no coloring.

What's in each serving

Each 30g serving provides 22.2g of protein, 5.5g of BCAAs (leucine, isoleucine, valine) and only 117 kcal. The sugar concentration after reconstitution in the shaker is less than 1.2%. The product contains less than 5% residual lactose and is gluten-free.

The amino acid profile is complete: all 9 essential amino acids are present, with a high leucine content (2.6g per serving), a key amino acid in muscle metabolism.

All Protéalpes formulas are developed by a team of pharmacists, who are themselves athletes and daily consumers of their products. Each batch is certified compliant with the European sports standard NF EN 17444, which attests to the absence of doping contaminants, a critical point given that approximately 15% of food supplements on the market contain prohibited substances (Geyer et al., Int J Sport Med, 2004).

In a shaker and in cooking

Pour 150 to 200 ml of liquid (water, milk, plant-based milk) into a shaker, add one dose with the provided measuring spoon, and shake. Natural vanilla makes it a particularly versatile base in cooking: pancakes, porridges, cakes, smoothies, and many other recipes. Since the formula is free of additives and sweeteners, it can be heated without risk of releasing undesirable compounds, unlike proteins containing sucralose or other synthetic sweeteners.
